This is an ideal destination for those who love nature and want to experience the culture of ethnic minorities. Famous terraced rice viewing spots include: La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha, Khau Pha pass, etc.
Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai) is famous for its majestic terraced fields, but hidden among that magnificent natural scenery are unique and vibrant ethnic villages. These places attract tourists with their simple stilt houses, winding roads around the mountainsides and the gentle smiles of the Mong people.
Known as one of the four great passes of Vietnam, Khau Pha Pass is famous for its high slopes and spectacular turns. Khau Pha Pass is more than 30km long, and is located at an altitude of 1200m above sea level. Therefore, from the top of the pass, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Mu Cang Chai as well as the villages of the H’mong, Dao, and Thai people.
